Stanton Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

Stanton Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

The Stanton family has been growing grapes in the Napa Valley since 1947. Beginning with the harvest of 1999, Doug Stanton began selecting some of their best Oakville Cabernet for the Stanton Vineyards label. In addition to Cabernet Sauvignon, the Stantons grow Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Mourvedre and Petite Sirah. Roughly half of our acreage lies in the Oakville appellation, and the other half within the St. Helena appellation of he Napa Valley. For this 2005 vintage, winemaker Dave Phinney selected a blend of 7% Petite Sirah to go with 93% Oakville cabernet.

The result is a wine that is richly structured with expressive aromas of ripe cassis, blackberry and blueberry, smoothly integrated with pleasant oak flavors, that finishes on the palate with medium-full tannins

As always, we hope you enjoy drinking this wine as much as we enjoyed growing and producing it for you

Stanton Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon 2003

Stanton Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon 2003

In 1999, Doug Stanton began setting aside some of the family's best Oakville cabernet for the Stanton Vineyards label. We are especially excited about the 2003 Oakville cabernet sauvignon. For the first time, we were able to add verdot from our newly replanted Mills Lane vineyard. The combination of great "estate grown" fruit and the artistic winemaking skill of our winemaker, Dave Phinney, are evident in this bottle of wine.
